In 1975, Ray Dalio founded Bridgewater Associates out of his apartment, eventually building it into one of the world's largest hedge funds and pioneering investment strategies such as the "All Weather" risk parity portfolio. He is also a prominent macroeconomic commentator and bestselling author of books including Principles: Life and Work.
