In 1987, Morris Chang founded TSMC, pioneering the pure-play semiconductor foundry model that transformed global manufacturing and enabled the rise of fabless chip designers. Before creating TSMC, he spent 25 years at Texas Instruments, where he rose to Group Vice President responsible for worldwide semiconductor operations.
