The Exchanges

Every argument clarity score on this site is built from rows on this page. Each question and answer was assessed with names hidden, the host's own answers included, on four things from 1 to 5: directness (does it answer the question asked), coherence (do the ideas follow), precision (concrete details and clear references), compression (says a lot per word). The weighted mix (30/30/25/15) is the exchange score. A person's published score averages their exchange scores on raw tape only, at least 8 of them, shrunk toward the cohort mean. Full method →

Every exchange below was scored with names hidden, four dimensions each from 1 to 5. An exchange's score is 0.30·directness + 0.30·coherence + 0.25·precision + 0.15·compression. The published score averages the raw tape exchange scores and shrinks small samples toward the cohort mean, so five great answers can't beat twenty good ones. Produced feed rows count only toward coarse estimates, never toward a full score.

Q Can you talk a bit? I mean, we've got a lot of tech and business people here. Like, what have you guys made work? I know you've done some different things that people said were crazy with regards to wholesale and customer acquisition.

A I also think the secret to any business working is you being the customer. And that's really what we are, is like, we really think of what we want, and what we want to see, and what price point we want to see, and Sarah and I have run in a circle of girls for a long time that are high fashion girls. They're spending 1200 dollars on a freaking anything, right? They're spending 3000 dollars on a bag. We don't do that. We just have never been high fashion girls, and so we were always going to events like this, and being sort of intimidated because we weren't wearing the Roe or Kate, and wondering what we can wear, and have somebody, like, ask us You know, what we're wearing because I think it's cute, and it turns out that is who our customer is. Our customer is a girl who wants to go out and be proud of what she's wearing and wear something cool and trendy and unique that doesn't, she doesn't want to pay more than 300 dollars for it, and she wants her friends to covet it.

AI assessment note: “the secret to any business working is you being the customer.”
