After serving in the Peace Corps, Clifford founded Tumi in 1975, pioneering ballistic nylon bags and scaling it into a global luggage brand. In 2017, he co-founded ROAM Luggage, a direct-to-consumer line of customizable suitcases assembled in the United States.
