The Exchanges

Every argument clarity score on this site is built from rows on this page. Each question and answer was assessed with names hidden, the host's own answers included, on four things from 1 to 5: directness (does it answer the question asked), coherence (do the ideas follow), precision (concrete details and clear references), compression (says a lot per word). The weighted mix (30/30/25/15) is the exchange score. A person's published score averages their exchange scores on raw tape only, at least 8 of them, shrunk toward the cohort mean. Full method →

Robert McKee no published score: no usable exchanges on raw tape, and a fair score needs 8+ record → ← everyone

Every exchange below was scored with names hidden, four dimensions each from 1 to 5. An exchange's score is 0.30·directness + 0.30·coherence + 0.25·precision + 0.15·compression. The published score averages the raw tape exchange scores and shrinks small samples toward the cohort mean, so five great answers can't beat twenty good ones. Produced feed rows count only toward coarse estimates, never toward a full score.

Q What are we talking about here? We're talking about a drink, right?

A Yeah. What are the choices? To make things simple here, what are the choices? How do you persuade people? You can do one of two things. You can brag and promise. We're the biggest, we're the best, and promise, we'll do this for you, we'll do that for you. You can brag and promise. What do you call, you know, uh, uh, Benefits and, and, um, features in, in Biz Ad School. You can brag and promise, or you can hook them and hold them with a story. Those are your only choices. Bragging and promising today, talk about limited attention spans, bragging and promising to young people today falls on deaf ears. They have heard all this crap before, and they're not impressed. So you gotta hook them With an, with something, a negative turning point that makes them wonder, how's this going to turn out? Hold them for a half a minute or a minute, and then pay it off with a terrific ending. And, uh, and you, you, you've got, you've got, you've got them, uh, looking forward to buying your product. And so it's, it's, it's, it's, you only have those two choices.

AI assessment note: “Yeah. What are the choices? To make things simple here”
