“The thing you really need to do is make sure that you get an IP assignment. So that's before they even start working, you have an agreement written up which states that the work that they're doing for you is owned by your company. Because if you don't do that, you put yourself at risk in the future for somebody coming back to you and saying, well, I did this work for you, and I wasn't compensated fairly, so now I feel like you should compensate me, and oh, look, you're very successful, therefore, you should really compensate me heavily.”
