Einar Vollset (TinySeed general partner) explains why SaaS founders encounter growth plateaus after reaching seven-figure ARR and need to adopt an 'elephant curves' framework.
“And I think the biggest mindset change that I've observed repeatedly is people, once they get past about a million in ARR two or three, they get to the stage. They're like, oh, like my growth is stalling out now. Like what I was working, like my market saturated, my niche is saturated and the mindset change becomes like, okay, I gotta do something new again. You know, like not just the thing that was working. I gotta go after another thing and another thing and another thing. And that's, I think is the biggest mindset change and the people The people who fail to do that quite often, they end up in a situation where because all sort of growth decays over time, they end up in a scenario where, like, they have a great business that's growing a hundred percent, and then they have a great business growing 40%, and then they have a great business that's growing 15%, and then they have a business that's not really growing, and then it starts to decline, and now they're like, crap, I should have sold this a couple of years ago.”
