Tai: Product-market fit means seeing more actionable opportunities than challenges

Andrew Tai, founder of MotoInsight, contrasts the feeling of running a struggling marketplace startup with the clarity of operating a B2B SaaS platform post-PMF.
“I think more practically, I think it just, you start seeing more opportunities than challenges. Like In the marketplace days, especially in the early days, it's just, if you would, we would, it felt like we saw way more challenges than, you know, opportunities where in, when we were doing, you know, modal commerce, which was our SaaS platform at modal insight just opportunities like were. Far more in abundance. And it's simply, maybe, like, as tactical, I was like, okay, well, I made one sale, and I have a list of other similar customers that I can call. And so, like, I've got actionable, tactical, like, hey, like, I know exactly what to do. The next step always felt way more clear when we were doing vertical SaaS and, you know, deep into Moto Insight. Versus like when we were in the early marketplace where like we had this really big grand idea, but like how to actually like put it into action was a lot of like feeling around.”
