Levie: Blockchains are too costly and inefficient to host internet infrastructure

Box CEO Aaron Levie explains his skepticism toward Web3 infrastructure during a discussion on crypto.
“The thing that lost me was when everybody was arguing that, that what we should do is decentralize all of the infrastructure of the internet. That's just literally, it just costs more to then run every internet service. And it's actually not a very good database. For non sort of financial objects. So, so the moment that people were saying, well, we should just like store like, you know, social network graphs on a blockchain or where we should do large data storage on a blockchain. And that's just like technically an inefficient way to run the web's infrastructure.”
