Ranvir Mangat, co-founder and COO of precision dosing software company InsightRx, explains how standard pharmaceutical development leads to one-size-fits-all dosing regimens.
“Part of the issue is, in that process, they have to try and make it, you know, somewhat simple, so that when it goes into the real world, into the clinic, it's easy for the mass population to follow that dosing guidance, and that's okay with certain drugs that we call them, they have a wide therapeutic index, so, you know, it doesn't really matter the dosing, Makes a difference, but there's a wide band where if you dose too much, you know, you may not have an adverse event, or if you dose too low, you may have some lack of efficacy, but there's a whole bunch of drugs where it's really important on the exposure that patient receives, and there you want to optimize the outcome.”
