Troy Carter, music manager and founder of Atom Factory, discusses how his primary client Eve left his newly formed independent agency in the mid-2000s.
“She came into my office, you know, she sat down on the couch, and she said, I think I want to go in another direction. Wow. And I said, well, what do you mean? She said, well I think I'm gonna find new management. I said, well, why? She said, well, I think I want to go to the next level, and I want to go with a manager who I think could get me to the next level. I said, well, are you thinking about anybody specifically? She said yeah, I'm thinking about this guy, Shaquem. I said, Shakim, Shakim's my mentor and good friend. So, she ended up signing with one of my good friends for management.”
