Stefan Thomas is the former Chief Technology Officer of Ripple and co-creator of the Interledger Protocol, having earlier created BitcoinJS and the viral 2011 explainer video What is Bitcoin?. After founding the web monetization platform Coil, he also attracted global media attention for losing the password to an IronKey encrypted drive holding 7,002 Bitcoin.
