The Exchanges, every show

Every argument clarity score on this site is built from rows on this page, here across all 44 shows. Each question and answer was assessed with names hidden, the hosts' own answers included, on four things from 1 to 5: directness (does it answer the question asked), coherence (do the ideas follow), precision (concrete details and clear references), compression (says a lot per word). The weighted mix (30/30/25/15) is the exchange score. A person's published score averages their exchange scores on raw tape only, at least 8 of them, shrunk toward the cohort mean. Full method →

Every exchange below was scored with names hidden, four dimensions each from 1 to 5. An exchange's score is 0.30·directness + 0.30·coherence + 0.25·precision + 0.15·compression. The published score rests on one show's raw tape, the show with the most assessed exchanges, and shrinks small samples toward that show's cohort mean, so five great answers can't beat twenty good ones. Produced feed rows count only toward coarse estimates, never toward a full score.

Q Okay. And that was gonna be my next question is, um, is it, you mentioned earlier software, is it exclusively, uh, software or will you include hardware as well?

A Uh, you know, earlier when we started the, the fund in 2011, we did, uh, invest in a few hardware plays, but over the years we realized to invest in a hardware play, A, you need a longer term perspective, B, you need, uh, a lot of capital, and C, uh, the sales cycle and adoption takes a lot longer. Uh, so we are a early stage, uh, micro fund, Uh, it is not a right strategy for us to be part of, so we've sort of walked away from that, and we exclusively now invest in software. They could be some hardware component where it is a data gathering tool or something of that sort, but the idea is the power is around, um, you know, the data that we are collecting or, uh, collecting, or it could be the decision layer That it's enabling the physical environment it is in.

Q And is the, is the thesis remained the same across all four funds?

A Absolutely. This thesis from the beginning of the fund was how can technology transform real sector? How can it improve the way we live, work, and play? That is the fundamental thesis at Augment Ventures. The name that what we call this technology has continuously changed over the last 15 years. I mean, if you remember a few years ago, it was all big data, then it was machine learning, it was edge computing, and now it's AI, right? So, uh, what is AI? It is built on all the technological, um, stages and developments that's been going on since many decades, but the name that we use today is AI. And quite honestly, We call ourselves that we are investing in AI native companies that are transforming foundational industries. The reason is why would you not use the best tech stack to enable these industries to be more efficient, productive, and sustainable? So that's the point of view. So that point that trying to make real sector Efficient, productive, and sustainable was the starting point in 2011, and in 2026, that thesis remains the same. The, the name of the technology layer has sort of evolved over the last few decades.
