Q Okay. How did you get, I mean, how did you get that?
A Well, I had a track record, right? I'd worked with other authors, I'd built a platform for myself, I had an email list, I had a blog, um, I had good connections, I had good friends, and then I was writing about something that no one had really written about before, and so, you combine those things, someone will pay you to write that book. The book, I was gonna go into a, in an auction or a bidding war, Penguin, which is the publisher I've worked with ever since, uh, preempted it in a, in a pretty big, Way. And then the first thing I did was I took that, and I put out a press release that said I'd sold it for a half a million dollars, because I wanted to illustrate how, like, people just trust whatever is in a press release. So then that came out, and so the book was a, the book was much more controversial than, let's say, its sales would have represented, but it did really good, and it afforded me the opportunity to do a second book.
