The Exchanges

Every argument clarity score on this site is built from rows on this page. Each question and answer was assessed with names hidden, the host's own answers included, on four things from 1 to 5: directness (does it answer the question asked), coherence (do the ideas follow), precision (concrete details and clear references), compression (says a lot per word). The weighted mix (30/30/25/15) is the exchange score. A person's published score averages their exchange scores on raw tape only, at least 8 of them, shrunk toward the cohort mean. Full method →

Manuel Opitz no published score: no usable exchanges on raw tape, and a fair score needs 8+ record → ← everyone

Every exchange below was scored with names hidden, four dimensions each from 1 to 5. An exchange's score is 0.30·directness + 0.30·coherence + 0.25·precision + 0.15·compression. The published score averages the raw tape exchange scores and shrinks small samples toward the cohort mean, so five great answers can't beat twenty good ones. Produced feed rows count only toward coarse estimates, never toward a full score.

Q That's great. Okay, good. So we, we understand some of the economics specifically for, for Sophie's foot. Take us through kind of, uh, more about your story. So, and kind of volume that you're at today, uh, in 2016, how many individual kind of prosthetics did you three D print?

A Um, actually, we're roughly, slightly more about 30, but officially, I have to state this very clearly, officially, we mostly sold prototypes. Uh, we are not allowed in Europe just to sell any medical product. We, you need a CE mark to do so, uh, which is like a FDA approval. You can compare this very nicely. And, uh, we actually, we achieved this for the feed just now, and we will start to sell them in, uh, this month or maybe next month. Um, So officially we didn't sell any products in 2016, but only prototypes, but still, uh, we got some seed funding in November, and since then I think we made more than 10 K. Okay, got it.

Q Okay. And how do you, um, like how did you get those numbers? Is that, is that pretty standard across the industry or is that cheaper or more expensive?

A It's, it's really difficult. It really depends on where you are insured. So if you're privately insured or publicly insured here in Germany, we have a big public insurance system, which is really nice, but it's also very, very difficult because every insurance, and there are more than 200 out of out there in Germany alone, uh, everyone has their own prices, but it's roughly, you can guess some area. And then the medical supply stores, they have to do the work in the end and get the reimbursement. We can only provide a cost estimation. But, uh, usually we fit in there and even for public insurance, not only for private insurance, which pays much, much more than what I mentioned.
