The Exchanges

Every argument clarity score on this site is built from rows on this page. Each question and answer was assessed with names hidden, the host's own answers included, on four things from 1 to 5: directness (does it answer the question asked), coherence (do the ideas follow), precision (concrete details and clear references), compression (says a lot per word). The weighted mix (30/30/25/15) is the exchange score. A person's published score averages their exchange scores on raw tape only, at least 8 of them, shrunk toward the cohort mean. Full method →

Every exchange below was scored with names hidden, four dimensions each from 1 to 5. An exchange's score is 0.30·directness + 0.30·coherence + 0.25·precision + 0.15·compression. The published score averages the raw tape exchange scores and shrinks small samples toward the cohort mean, so five great answers can't beat twenty good ones. Produced feed rows count only toward coarse estimates, never toward a full score.

Q Yep. Okay. Take us back to the story here. What year did you launch the company in?

A So we launched the company. It goes, goes quite a lot, quite a few years back. So back in, back in 2002 in Copenhagen, three engineers, uh, as just, as you mentioned in, in, in the intro, I mean, uh, with a bit of a mixed background from consulting and, and, and, and banking and engineers and so on, they just thought, you know, we, we, we needed a little bit of a change and, and we were kind of looking at a lot of different industries. And one that looks really amazing was just the ad industry and the way that it is like your 500 plus Billion dollar market where in those days, one percent or so was digitized and everyone knew that over the next couple of decades, you know, everything was going to go digital. So there was like this huge slot of this change, huge change that was going to happen. Everyone knew it. And we just thought, well, we want to be in the middle of that. So that was really kind of the, the, the, the starting point of it.

Q That's funny. All right. Um, look, these numbers are super impressive. I want to, I'm trying to figure out kind of the right questions to ask things you can share that nobody else can. So you, again, you scaled the 18 offices, 750 employees. I mean, did, did you Are you still managing all the recruiting and meetings yourself, or how did you start to scale that?

A Well, I, I think it, it, it is a lot more building a team, right? So I mean, we, we have a much broader management team today, and we've, uh, I think we were up to like 12 people now in the management team. So I have a COO who's, who's really dealing with a lot of the, to actually kind of running the business and making sure that the ends meet, and there's a CFO who, who's responsible for, for, for that whole side of it, um, HR, uh, you know, C-level HR person and so on. So, so of course today, I think it's, it's, it's a lot, it's, it's super different to what it was, and, and sometimes you can almost kind of miss it that you were involved in everything. Nowadays it's a bit like, you know, uh, I know I shouldn't, you, you want to jump in deep in all kinds of places all the time, but you know, it, it, it really doesn't scale. Uh, so, so that's been a, been a big change, and I think in general just kind of formalizing the business and, and, and getting structures in place and processes in place and stuff like this is, is, Kind of one of the things that we are definitely working on a lot now, right? Just a little bit of a different kind of set of challenges we have now compared to, compared to four.
