The Exchanges

Every argument clarity score on this site is built from rows on this page. Each question and answer was assessed with names hidden, the host's own answers included, on four things from 1 to 5: directness (does it answer the question asked), coherence (do the ideas follow), precision (concrete details and clear references), compression (says a lot per word). The weighted mix (30/30/25/15) is the exchange score. A person's published score averages their exchange scores on raw tape only, at least 8 of them, shrunk toward the cohort mean. Full method →

Every exchange below was scored with names hidden, four dimensions each from 1 to 5. An exchange's score is 0.30·directness + 0.30·coherence + 0.25·precision + 0.15·compression. The published score averages the raw tape exchange scores and shrinks small samples toward the cohort mean, so five great answers can't beat twenty good ones. Produced feed rows count only toward coarse estimates, never toward a full score.

Q Yeah. Interesting. Now you're early, but sometimes I get surprised. Do you have expansion revenue and an upsell machine working yet?

A Um, well, we have it naturally, I would say, because, you know, like, philosophy of my business is that if we will, if we will help some company to grow, they will, they will grow with us, we will grow with them. So, yeah, the team starts, they, uh, We increase with our tools, their, um, collaboration, productivity, and this way, you know, they're starting to add more seats, more people, stuff like that. We are adding features that, you know, create for them more easy to use environment to share the data and collaborate. So that, that's how it comes, but we are, we don't have, and we don't have plans to introduce some, you know, locking effects or,

Q Explain your process. I have a lot of listeners right now that want to do what you do. They're bootstrapped. They want to go win SEO keywords from, you know, and they're competing against big VC funded competitors like Slack. How do you find these keywords to optimize for?

A Um, first of all, it's by, um, human sense, you know, common sense. Um, so we are trying to understand what's actually the, uh, competitive and where we can compete. So these are these long tail keywords. You know, Slack alternative was not the obvious choice back then. And then we started to grow and grow and grow. So actually, uh, Um, yeah, that was the situation with my last marketing person who was thinking that if we will grow, like, not vertically, but horizontally, that would bring up something. So we, we grew up horizontally in terms of this productivity quotes and some other things. And it looks great on, you know, on metrics that, you know, like thing numbers or marketing numbers are getting up, but actually, um, Yeah, that doesn't, you know, doesn't influence the business. Yeah. Um, but what was influencing the business is that, um, I set up the, uh, reverse funnel from the, uh, from our billing firm and our product, and then we started to see who are actually came to the billing in the reverse scenario. And then we identified who were the guys from, from which content they came from. And of course we have this, uh, enormous amount of affiliates, which are, well, currently coming from different channels. Though I think we are receiving some part of the traffic just directly. It's like, you know, brand keywords and so on.

Q Where did you recruit her from? Like how, if someone's listening right now wants to go find great writers, you know, what can they learn from you?

A Actually, my, my marketing lady, who we got back then, we were hiring her. And what we were looking for is that the person could actually write great stories. So the idea was that we should use the, um, uh, natural communication language, which will be not geeky, which will be not market, market English. I don't know how to say it correctly. Um, and then that people can actually write nice stories. What I found that these stories are not converted. So it's great to have these Yeah, almost entertaining content, but we also need to provide other, other types of content. So these are the editorial content. These are, you know, social proof, credibility content that we definitely should provide. Um, and now I'm making a new plan for the next year so that we will We will provide more tailored content for some specific niche businesses, and more, yeah, more content for educate our users, so related to our Use cases.
