The Exchanges

Every argument clarity score on this site is built from rows on this page. Each question and answer was assessed with names hidden, the host's own answers included, on four things from 1 to 5: directness (does it answer the question asked), coherence (do the ideas follow), precision (concrete details and clear references), compression (says a lot per word). The weighted mix (30/30/25/15) is the exchange score. A person's published score averages their exchange scores on raw tape only, at least 8 of them, shrunk toward the cohort mean. Full method →

Danavir Sarria no published score: no usable exchanges on raw tape, and a fair score needs 8+ · coarse estimate ≈4.0/5 from 4 produced feed exchanges record → ← everyone

Every exchange below was scored with names hidden, four dimensions each from 1 to 5. An exchange's score is 0.30·directness + 0.30·coherence + 0.25·precision + 0.15·compression. The published score averages the raw tape exchange scores and shrinks small samples toward the cohort mean, so five great answers can't beat twenty good ones. Produced feed rows count only toward coarse estimates, never toward a full score.

Q Okay. So tell me understand, did you graduate college and you just couldn't do corporate? So you're doing this instead. Give us some more context.

A No, actually, I've, I've been, you know, in the online world, I guess you could say, uh, ever since I was 15 years old, and I've just been, you know, learned, I was trying to, I was in the fitness market mostly, and a little bit in self-defense and stuff, and that still never worked out, and then it just so happened that in the last semester of college that I ended up saying, you know what, let me just teach copywriting, because that's, other than fitness at the time, um, it was the only thing I really Knew that I knew could, I could provide value and be an expert in. And so that, yeah, that's what I did.

Q Well, if you keep doing this though, I mean, you can drive sales in the short term to the tune of four or five, 6000 bucks, but eventually you have no list left. So how do you manage that?

A Well, what I do is that it's all about expectations, right? So I, so normally when there's no sale, like I had there, I send one email every single day, right? And I, people who, people just get accustomed to it. People like the emails I send because I just, I don't, I typically teach something through emails with story. People, people really like me. They, they know me through the emails. So because I do that every single day and when, and yes, during this time, because it was the first time I actually went that hard. During copy month to, to, to sell something. But when you do that all the time and you tell people how to do it, especially me, cause I teach copywriting. So I tell them, Hey, you send more emails and stuff like that. I teach them what I'm doing. Um, that just becomes expectation. Then if people leave, people leave. Right. And what I, I built, like, even though people have left, those are people who have never, they were not that they're never going to buy, but they, they didn't like my content either. Like They were just there because they were there, uh, you know, content upgrades and like that, but the people who are, the people who buy, and even the people who don't buy, but the people who talk about CopyMonk all the time, they're the ones that are like, hey, I love your emails, hey, I love your content, and that's the best thing, uh, that I, that's the thing…

Q people good copywriters? How do you know, and maybe speak, speak in, you know, answer this question through yourself. Like, how do you know if you're a good copywriter or not? Or how do you know if someone listening right now, if they're trying to hire a copywriter, what questions should they be asking to get through the, You know, the bullshit and get it right to the good ones.

A Well, to know if there's two different, if you know yourself as you're talking about yourself, if you're a good copywriter, one, is it, are you making sales? And two, what are people saying about your stuff? So engagement, uh, pretty much just, just like regular content essentially, but not engaging like, like, Hey, I really liked your, your blog posts or, Hey, I don't know about, um, not blog posts, email or something or sales letter, but, or like, Hey, um, for some reason I never buy, you know, from emails or stuff like that, but yours email just made me want to Talk to you. You know what I mean? So stuff like that. If you're writing, you're talking about yourself.

Q How the hell do you know? That's my point, right? Is like, how can you say you're a great copywriter? And you say the critical thing, copywriting is getting sales. Talking to people's heart, but then you don't, you don't know if your campaigns have been successful in the past.

A Well, yeah, man, I, I, I know they've been successful, but like, they don't, they don't tell me, like, clients are really, as well, one thing I really don't like about client work is that they don't, it's super hard to get actual numbers from them. So I do know that they, they, they tell me they get results, and they tell me, so like, because here's the thing, when direct response copywriting is a little different from other things, if you don't make sales, you're fired. That's pretty much it to it. So if I, I am, the only reason I only stayed for six months was because I left Cause I didn't want to do any more client work just when I moved to copy bunk. So when I did that, I was making a, not, not me, but I was helping them make the multiples of whatever I had. So.
