The Exchanges

Every argument clarity score on this site is built from rows on this page. Each question and answer was assessed with names hidden, the host's own answers included, on four things from 1 to 5: directness (does it answer the question asked), coherence (do the ideas follow), precision (concrete details and clear references), compression (says a lot per word). The weighted mix (30/30/25/15) is the exchange score. A person's published score averages their exchange scores on raw tape only, at least 8 of them, shrunk toward the cohort mean. Full method →

Every exchange below was scored with names hidden, four dimensions each from 1 to 5. An exchange's score is 0.30·directness + 0.30·coherence + 0.25·precision + 0.15·compression. The published score averages the raw tape exchange scores and shrinks small samples toward the cohort mean, so five great answers can't beat twenty good ones. Produced feed rows count only toward coarse estimates, never toward a full score.

Q business. That's a very common reason and a very smart reason, in my opinion. So I have a question here. So you decide to sell, you have a great business on your hands. Um, what was it like when you first listed on acquire.com? Was, did we meet your expectations? Were you surprised when so many buyers reached out? What was your expectation for the first week and what happened?

A Yeah, yeah, I will be honest, really honest with you. Uh, I didn't expect this amount of, like, uh, requests, which means, uh, I've been prepared, which means I, before I listed, I wanted, like, to provide a good experience for people, so that means I'm aware, uh, that they will see my listing, but they will request more information, so, uh, I, like, uh, also, Design the journey when someone requests to see my agency to provide more information with additional deck to ask some questions, et cetera, et cetera. But to be honest, I didn't expect this amount of like, uh, especially when I listed within the first two or three weeks, this amount of like request to sign the NDA to see more, to hear more. And we didn't do like first two or three weeks. I don't remember. I think I've been with, I don't know, on maybe four to five serious calls with, with the prospective buyers. And to be honest, I didn't expect that because I know that people are not, I know, but I was, I was thinking that people are more, more interested in the product businesses, such as SaaS, softwares, marketplaces, and so on. Uh, and this is like a service business, but I didn't expect like this amount of like requests and What also surprised me is, uh, the quality of the request. That means the people that really Read everything, uh, my listing and really understand what it is and really like, uh, you know, uh, ap…

Q That's great to hear. I mean, our main focus is definitely SaaS companies, but we have a large buyer network that is interested in agencies like yours, so I'm not too surprised. But in terms of preparing for the acquisition, did you work with anyone on the Acquire.com team, or did you prepare anything in advance before you went live on the marketplace?

A Uh, yeah. Actually, what I did, like, I, I get in touch with the people who already did this, like, from my personal network and, you know, so on. Um, regarding to where the, where the, the acquire.com support and people really help me was in the due diligence phase and, you know, contract and, and, uh, phases like more deeper phases of, of, uh, negotiation or, or selling the business. Uh, but, uh, I can say and suggest for all the people who want to list their business on acquire or to sell someone else is to really, like, Prepare, uh, like, get, get really prepared. Where, uh, acquire.com help me is actual your resources, your blog posts, your templates, et cetera, et cetera. So I read a lot about, you know, some, uh, some, something that I didn't know previously, like, you know, how, what is the, uh, I don't know, asset purchase agreement, uh, what are the, you know, other types of agreement, how the due diligence goes usually, et cetera, et cetera. So, Your resources, I can say, on the blog and on your website really helped me and with your resources to, to, to gain a better picture or how, how everything goes and to predict some steps.
