It's that one of the things you have to have in order to make electrochemical reactions take place is that you have to have some electrical conductivity. You have to be able to move electrons around. And solid particles, especially insulating solid particles, just don't have that conductivity. And so, those transformations, when you force them to take place, that electrode, tend to be You know, even slower, more sluggish.”
