Ian Bassin leads Protect Democracy, a nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to countering authoritarianism and protecting free and fair elections, the rule of law, and democratic governance in the United States. A former Associate White House Counsel in the Obama administration, he was named a MacArthur Fellow and received the Skoll Award for Social Innovation in 2023.
