Andreessen: Senior VCs Reach an 'Idea Event Horizon' and Reject New Paradigms
Marc Andreessen · #129 Marc Andreessen: Interview with an Icon · Jan 25, 2022 · at 49:11
Marc Andreessen, co-founder of venture firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), discusses the pitfalls of decision-making hierarchy and decision velocity in venture capital.
“There's a point a lot of people reach where they're just done with new ideas. It's like the general version of the problem. It's just like, okay, like I got through the PC. I got through the internet. I got Facebook. All right. I got, okay. Food delivery works, but like TikTok, like really, right? It's just too much. It's just like, okay, this is just, at this point, the world is getting ridiculous. And like, I don't want to process this anymore. And like almost everybody hits that point at some point. And so I just think like the, yeah, I just think that the bad way to do venture is to have people who have reached that point doing sign off on the decisions.”
