“A lot of companies are rushing towards, like I said, like, the most frontier forefront tech of what they could be building, and that's really exciting because the industry is moving really fast, and there's lots of really awesome things being built that, you know, a decade ago wouldn't have been possible but people are overlooking, I think, like, the fundamentals, like, reliability, durability, autonomy, quality, like, these are all kind of maybe less glamorous and maybe the, quote, boring parts of building a robot. But people are kind of jumping over that really quickly to get to the end and I think people are building up this invisible debt in their products and you kind of pay that back later, like you start, once you start deploying your robots at scale, that's when all of those fundamentals that weren't done, the foundations weren't built right, that's when they start showing.”

Grace Brown: A robot's capability is defined by purpose, not demos
“People assume the technical capability or the capability of a robot is dependent on the demo, but that's actually just not true at all. It's very much like, what is the robot built for? Who is it built for? And is it serving that purpose?”
