Q There's an incredible amount of enthusiasm on the state level in California and from the Biden administration federally. What did you hear locally as you went and talked to people within the community?
A The number one sentiment that I heard from people is, well, we need some kind of industry here because We really have nothing. Agriculture has been the major industry in the, uh, in the Southern Imperial Valley for about a century. You have maybe some trucking businesses, but really there's, there's not very much. So people were excited at the prospect of, of jobs and the prospect of, of industry. Um, I think people also generally feel neglected in this part of, um, the Imperial Valley. Uh, they, they feel, uh, one, one person who I talked to, he was actually one of the younger Folks I interviewed, he was 33, he was an at-home tutor, and, uh, he made the remark that because this region votes, uh, Democrat a majority, you know, it's, it's a reliable, reliably Democratic district, he felt that state politicians overlooked the region or, or took it for granted.
