“What is it about decathletes that are relevant? Well, They're generally considered the best athletes. you know, the person who wins the decathlon at the Olympics is generally regarded as the best athlete. But individually, they're not great at any one sport. They're not the best at the, you know, at the sprints or the hurdles or whatever it is. but in terms of their well-roundedness, they are. And I think that's actually an appropriate way to think about what it means to be an exceptional eighty-year-old, ninety-year-old, or amazingly, if you can get there, a hundred-year-old.”
