“We didn't have an expert say, here's how you find a cat with nose and paws and whiskers and this shaped eyes and these funny shaped ears. We basically just fed the network a bunch of data, and the data learned to categorize the inputs without any guidance from an expert or without any rules. So this is the heart of the revolution. This is the big breakthrough in artificial intelligence. So instead of interviewing humans, trying to extract expertise, programming the computers with that expertise, it's a data up approach. Just feed it a bunch of data, and the computer will learn how to classify by itself.”
