“I think what I would advocate for educators listening to this, I think what I would advocate is a very kind of stark bar, barbell approach, which is anytime there's a debate or discussion of the form of like, oh my God, is the kid cheating with AI? The very practice of whatever is happening in the classroom and with assessment is just wrong. Whatever that approach is just needs It needs to be dumped because those are unsolvable problems. Instead, basically it should bifurcate and basically every, every form of assessment should be one or the other of the following on opposite sides of the barbell. Either something in a literal classroom where there is no possibility that there is any sort of, you know, machine assistance. Right. And so, you know, literally the only things in the classroom are, you know, paper and pencil. And it's a contained environment. So it's like, if it's an essay thing, the kid writes the essay right there in the classroom and there's just no The opportunity to go talk to an AI or whatever. And you know, you're gonna have to check, make sure they don't have an earpiece and so forth, but like, you know, let's assume you can do that. Or the other side of it, which is like, no, we're just gonna assume that we're gonna live in a world where everybody's gonna have AI. And in that case, the educational mission is to teach everybody how to function in that world.”
