“One thing that's been a learning process for me is, for both the boards I'm on as a CMO, I could jump in and say, Here's how you should run these areas of marketing, but as a board member, I'm going to be much more effective if I just ask questions and listen. And that was something when I joined both boards, I wasn't quite sure at the beginning what role I should play and it's something I've learned, right? Ask the questions connect them with people, empower them to figure out the right solutions for them, but don't jump in and tell them how to do it.”
