These readings are observational: the transcript shows whether the question was answered directly, whatever the reason. It is an AI reading of a public exchange, never a claim about intent, and the tape is one tap away on every row. full disclaimer →
Every one of the 230 people on the record is accounted for: 6 carry a full rate (8 or more assessed questions on raw tape), 112 more have their questions counted (22 of them with at least one not answered directly; too few raw questions for a fair percentage, edited feed included), and the remaining 112 never took a direct question in any tape we hold: compilations, panels and cameo appearances leave nothing to assess.
No needle for David Tisch: fewer than 8 assessed questions on raw tape, and a percentage on a sample that small would mislead. Their counts are real: 2 not answered directly in 6 assessed questions.

“I, I, I, I was more, um, how was, has there ever, you know, it feels like over the last two years, call it, there's been more of these sort of roll-ups than ever before. Was there, was there another, did, was there another kind of like general, like market-wide crack, or was it just sort of like individual areas, um, and opportunities versus broader trends?”
answered: “unpacking the nuance In these words is more important than assuming a general”
“what you're seeing on the LP side, but we've heard that there might be some fatigue from LPs on what's going on in venture, but at the same time, it feels like that David Goggins meme where, you know, venture just keeps on chugging no matter what, uh, you're going to the AGM. Uh, what, what are you seeing broadly in terms of LP appetite for ever bigger venture funds?”
answered: “We're a small, adorable seed fund... we are not responsible to answer that question.”

Percentages come from raw unedited recordings only: produced podcast audio has tangents and stumbles cut in the edit, which moves the speaker up by about 12 percentile points. The small-sample counts include the produced feed. This is a reading of a transcript. It is not an accusation of dishonesty, and there are many good reasons not to answer a question directly (confidential numbers, unreleased products, someone else's news to break).
