Q What, what do they, how are they gonna do that?

A Uh, it's a distributed processing grid that actually, it's data and CPU localized to specifically units of work. It's, it's, it's pretty, ah, hairy stuff, but it's, it's a system that has APIs in Scala and in Java, and they're working on JavaScript and, and Python, where you can take a function and basically the MapReduce becomes three lines of code. That in real time goes out there of a grid of arbitrary size that you have set up. Pulls in the right data and aggregates the results and processes the information. Pretty interesting company. Thompson uses them. So, you know, here. Apple uses them to supply chain analytics. Daiwo uses them to do, it's mostly financial companies that do portfolio and real time portfolio pricing and portfolio analysis. Apple does supply chain modeling, ah, with their software. Open source and, ah, and, ah, and enterprise edition. They're working.

Q Do you actually want to talk about the companies you set up, because you're being very modest, but this is?

A Um, well, my, my first company was, it was actually very quick. We were, we were kids, and we built a relational OLAP engine, ah, at, at the time that, ah, We had no idea what venture capital was until these guys from Sequoia came up and asked who was funding us, and we said, what are you talking about? I had this guy named Mike Moritz on my board. He was investing in Yahoo. I was making fun of him saying, advertising, come on. What is this? So, you know, we were, we were kids, and that company fairly quickly was acquired by Informix, and it became a part of their analytical data warehouse products, and now it's part of IBM after The big fish ate the little fish, and so on. I was in EIR at Sequoia, and then I started a company called Plumtree Software, which was a corporate portal, ah, play. Again, it was, ah, about data, you know, and, and, because I, my, my whole life was spent around data. Going back earlier, when I was graduating from school, I was interviewing with a head of a college degree from Oracle, which was one of my first jobs. He said, so what do you want to do? I said, I want to do databases. He said, no, really. I said, no, I really want to do databases. He was kind of surprised. So, Plumtree was yet another, it was a heterogeneous information system.
