Executive compensation advisor Jacob Warwick explains how emotional repair resolved a major Hollywood franchise dispute between an A-list actor and a writer after financial offers failed.
“The important lesson here is it's not always about money. That individual was making ten million dollars a year, a 10% increase to have to go back to somebody they didn't like, not powerful, right? My suggestion was, can you ask the actor, this A-list celebrity, To humble themselves and apologize. And that is what moved the deal across the line. Actually came in and apologized for the behavior. It's not going to be like that. That's what got the deal back together. And the million dollars was saved.”
