“It's not about convincing one VC. It's a. 15 year road show you have to do. It's selling the story and the next story. And then you're consumed with building those VC relationship and building the hype and growing the business and you better deliver, but you're delivering completely different. You're delivering on headcount. You're delivering on growth at all costs. You're delivering. So just this reality check, I see a lot of people are stuck in this mix and match. They end up, like, raising eight million, but they're also operator, and then everyone's like, well, you have this cash, but you haven't grown this much. He's like, yeah, because it takes time, but that's not the deal we had. So they're, like, stuck in this, like, halfway engine kind of thing.”

Bou Fadel: Mobile apps fail at construction timekeeping, requiring physical hardware
“And in our use case, there's no app for a time clock. We needed a physical rugged time clock because it checked a lot of the boxes that a cell phone or an app and any construction environment wouldn't check.”

Bou Fadel: Converting customer feedback directly into engineering tickets is a mistake
“Customers always come with feedback, and the biggest mistake is to take this feedback and run with the product with it. So, we have to add a buffer. Which is identifying a leading and a lagging factor.”

Bou Fadel: Capital beyond a bare minimum burns cash without increasing output
“And you can have ten million in the bank or a couple 100,000. This is not gonna change. One engineer or 20. So there is a bare minimum that you need. If you have less than that, you're crippling the business. But then there's a very also maximum. More than tha…”

Bou Fadel: Startups succeed by sending engineers directly to client sites
“Really reducing the amount of layer between product and the client to almost zero, beyond the demos, beyond the support, beyond the success, like don't create feedback loops. That's the value of being startup. Have an engineer go onto the job site, install it …”
