Storrow: Texas historically neglected energy efficiency due to abundant cheap power

Reporter Ben Storrow contrasts grid dynamics and energy efficiency incentives in Texas versus New England with host Stephen Lacey.
“Texas is an, I should maybe say energy resource poor region of the country, and Texas is an energy rich resource of the country in pretty much every sense of the word, right? And so I think when I talk to people down in Texas, the solar and the wind are a really huge help. But because Texas is energy rich, it's really never done anything on energy efficiency because they have so much energy. Energy that it's cheap. It doesn't matter how much you use from a cost perspective, whereas New England is like, you know, energy efficiency champions because every kilowatt hour is really expensive.”
