Leaving money on the table generates repeat deals and superior long-term returns

Alex Rodriguez discusses his transactional philosophy and how giving counterparties favorable pricing builds compounding long-term deal flow.
“If I can sell you this for one dollar, yeah, I can sell it to you for one 40 because I have the hammer and I have the leverage, but that'll be the last deal that I ever did with Ted, right? But if I can sell you this for nine bucks, when you know it's worth 10, then not only am I going to create good energy and alignment with you, but you're probably going to tell four or five friends that you actually like doing business with us, and there's a good chance that we're going to probably do three, four, five, 10, 12 deals together, and I'll take 90% on 12 deals.”
