“When you start getting beyond a handful of people, I think some of the magic numbers were kind of crossing 10 people, crossing more than 15 engineers. Things start to break, particularly related to communication patterns, and it starts to become a different kind of anxiety where internally what you want and what people think you're thinking are not immediately apparent because you're not all sitting around the same table anymore and can just go off and have a tangent on whatever topic you feel like.”
