Rob Go is co-founder and Partner at seed-stage venture firm NextView Ventures. He details NextView's internal process for preventing FOMO and bias when evaluating follow-on investments.
“We basically do a ranking of the portfolio every quarter from a perspective of where we want to deploy or follow on capital. And we do that because we want to make the decision apart from a financing opportunity, right? Because what ends up happening is when some fancy firm comes in, wants to lead a series B, you're, you convince yourself that this is the best opportunity in the world. But then if you look back and say, like, well, a quarter ago, You know, this was not necessarily a company that we were as bullish on. Like you got to make some really, you know, convincing argument why that makes sense. So that's one of the mechanisms we have to be able to do that.”
