Sherwin Wu, Head of Platform Engineering at OpenAI, explains why AI automation for standard operating procedures in non-tech enterprises is an overlooked opportunity compared to software engineering tooling.
“And so I'm just extremely bullish on this general category of, like, And I think it's underrated because it's so different from what we think about in Silicon Valley, people tend to not think about it. But how can we apply AI and some of the tools and frameworks that we have towards this business process automation, towards automated, automating and making easier, repeatable business processes with high determinism that is fully integrated with business data and business decisions. And different systems within an enterprise. And how can we actually make that, that process better? Because I actually think there's a lot of opportunity and a lot of work to be done in that area. And we just don't talk about it because it's a little bit less in our wheelhouse.”
